City of Tukwila
This project involves improvements to West Valley Highway (SR 181) in Tukwila that include widening a busy, congested stretch of SR 181 to seven lanes, new overlay, ADA improvements, pedestrian push button upgrades, design of a cycle track replacing bicycle facilities, and a pedestrian bridge over a 60-inch Seattle Public Utilities water main. Work also included preliminary engineering design for improvements to Longacres Way from SR 181 to the entrance of Sound Transit’s Tukwila Station. The TranTech team prepared Plans, Specifications, Estimate (PS&E) and provided Construction Management. Construction is anticipated to be complete in 2023. This project includes federal funds.
