The City of Bellingham tasked TranTech’s team to prepare improvement plans for to the North State Street & East Laurel Street intersection. This project has enhanced pedestrian and bicycle mobility, provides increased safety, and facilitates improved delineation and flow of traffic through Bellingham’s downtown.
Its construction enhances area non-motorized amenities and reduces overall pavement area through use of multiple landscaped areas. TranTech prepared Traffic Control plans for maintaining full roadway access, prepared the Stormwater Compliance Report in conformance with City codes with runoff treated by landscaped Rain Gardens, and prepared complete Contract Documents for advertisement. Federal funds were used in the planning, design, and construction of this project. Local Agency Guidelines manual procedures were followed throughout contract document preparation.
