TranTech is the designer on this rehabilitation and watermain crossing project. Kash Nikzad and Jim King are the Project Manager and Senior Structural Engineer for this project. The project involves a 16” watermain crossing and rehabilitation of the widespread cracking of the exterior girders of this 7-span, 360-foot bridge. PS&E plans for carrying the pipe across the Bridge were prepared and submitted to the City. During the 2005 inspection cycle, TranTech’s inspection team observed wide spread cracking of the exterior girders of this bridge. TranTech engineers in a condensed and cost-effective way were able to bring on board a crack injection contractor to perform the crack injections. In a two-day inspection period all the cracks were mapped and the injection team member was able to inject all the cracks in the subsequent five day span. This rehabilitation made the Bridge ready for the pipeline installation construction phase which was completed in February 2007.
