Jeff Thistle is a practiced construction inspector of transportation and utility projects including bridges and roadways. The majority of his professional experience comes from his work with the City of Bellingham Public Works Department, where the quality and variety of his construction inspection work led to his promotion to Operations and Maintenance Superintendent. Prior to working for TranTech, Jeff worked in the private sector providing construction management of large site developments and facilities.

Seattle Department of Transportation, South Spokane Street Viaduct Widening | Seattle, WA
Construction Inspector. Provided Construction Management Services for Seattle Department of Transportation. This project included the relocation and installation of new utilities at street level for the widening of the viaduct, including drainage, water and sewer lines, Seattle City Light electrical utilities, and improvements to the City’s traffic signal system. Also included in the project was structural inspection of a WSDOT Box Girder Bridge, shafts and columns, bridge deck, and micro-silica overlay of existing deck. Participated in bi-weekly safety reviews with SDOT Safety Manager and traffic control monitoring. All soils and ground water on the jobsite were deemed contaminated and directed their proper removal per King County Health Department standards.

Construction Inspector. Provided Construction Management Services for this project, including structural inspection, traffic control monitoring, and inspection of the relocation of drainage, water and sewer lines, and Seattle City Light electrical utilities. Noteworthy on this Project was the replacement of a 36” in diameter Cast Iron Water Main pipeline for approximately 800’ (between 1st and 2nd Avenue S.) with a new 36” in diameter Ductile Iron Pipeline.
City of Redmond, Construction Inspection for 2013 Capital Improvement Program | Redmond, WA
Construction Inspector Provided Construction Inspection Services to the City of Redmond for their Capital Improvement Program (CIP) for the 2013 construction season. The services included field observation and other tasks as requested to ensure that the work monitored was in compliance with the Contract Documents. The CIP projects were of various types, including roadway reconstruction; removal, repair and replacement of stormwater, sewer and water main system piping and structures; demolition of structures; signal and lighting improvements; landscaping and site access improvements; and other work as required to complete the projects.
City of Bellingham, Central Avenue Improvements | Bellingham, WA
Construction Inspector. Provided structural construction inspection for the 400-foot elevated wharf structure rehabilitation. The inspected features included replacement and realignment of a 16-inch water main, roadway and intersection improvements, sheet pile wall installation, and installation of a new Illumination system on the wharf structure.
